Basbusa



The Basbusa , Hebrew בסבוסה, is a typical sweet of the Middle East .


Ingredients

For the dough:

  • 500gr semolina;
  • 50g flour;
  • a plain yogurt;
  • 124gr of sugar
  • 200g butter, melted;
  • 1 packet of sugar
  • 1 packet of baking powder;
  • 2 tablespoons orange flower water;
  • milk (if necessary).
For the syrup:
  • 250 ml of water;
  • 200 grams of sugar;
  • 2 tablespoons orange flower water;

Preparation

Add all ingredients and kneading, the dough should be c

ompatto but not dry, perhaps add a bit 'of milk to mix. Cover the dough and let sit for 30 minutes.

Spread the mixture into a container, make furrows in

diagonal (in the middle of the dough without getting to the bottom) first one way then the other to form diamond shapes. Decorate each diamond with an almond. Bake for 35 minutes at 180 degrees.
